Tau (Phospho-Ser235)Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit provides a lysate-free, high-throughput method for detecting Tau (Phospho-Ser235) phosphorylation and expression in cultured cells. It works with human, mouse, and rat samples, including adherent cells, and uses an indirect ELISA format in which phospho-specific and total-target primary antibodies are paired with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies to generate a colorimetric readout at 450 nm. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is provided for normalising absorbance values to cell density.

The kit supports qualitative assessment of relative phospho-Tau levels and screening applications, such as evaluating the effects of treatments, siRNA or chemical inhibitors, and activators on Tau phosphorylation. The dynamic range is > 5000 cells. It targets the MAPT gene product (Gene ID 4137; UniProt P10636), a microtubule-associated protein implicated in establishing and maintaining neuronal polarity and, through abnormal phosphorylation, linked to neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer's disease, Pick's disease, frontotemporal dementia, cortico-basal degeneration, and progressive supranuclear palsy.
