Description

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit provides a high-throughput, sensitive method for the qualitative detection of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia 1 (TAL-1) protein directly in cultured cells. It is designed for use with adherent cell samples and is reactive with human and mouse species.

The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which TAL-1 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody. The conjugated HRP enzyme then catalyses a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition, with signal read at 450 nm. To support data normalisation, a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step can be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences.

The kit can be used to measure relative TAL-1 amounts in cultured cells and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (e.g. siRNA or chemicals), or activators on TAL-1 expression. Key specifications include a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells, colorimetric detection at 450 nm, 96-well microplate format, and storage at 4°C for 6 months. TAL-1 is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor involved in T-cell development and differentiation, and its dysregulation has been implicated in the pathogenesis of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, making it an important biomarker in leukaemia research.
