Synuclein-pan In-Cell ELISA

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this colorimetric cell-based ELISA is designed for the qualitative detection of Synuclein-pan in plated and fixed cells. The kit uses a 450 nm colorimetric detection system and is validated for reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples. It requires a minimum of 5000 cells per well, and the full assay protocol can be completed in 4.5 hours. Synuclein-pan corresponds to alpha-synuclein (gene name SNCA), a member of the synuclein family that is abundantly expressed in the brain. It is implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease and is a major component of amyloid plaques in the brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease. Target synonyms listed for the assay include Alpha-synuclein, Non-A beta component of AD amyloid, Non-A4 component of amyloid precursor, NACP, SNCA, and PARK1, and two alternatively spliced isoforms have been identified. The chromosomal location of the human ortholog is 4q21.
