Survivin Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Cell-Based ELISA Kit for the quantitative analysis of survivin protein in cultured cells. This lysate-free, high-throughput assay is designed to detect survivin protein expression profiles and is suited to adherent cell samples. The kit supports research into cell division, apoptosis regulation, and cancer biology.

The assay uses an indirect ELISA format, in which survivin-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. Detection is colorimetric at 450 nm, with a dynamic range of > 5000 cells. Reactivity is reported for human, mouse, and rat samples. The kit includes a monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step may be used to determine cell density for further data normalisation.

Researchers can use the assay to measure relative amounts of survivin in cultured cells and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, or activators. Storage is at 4°C for 6 months. Survivin, encoded by the BIRC5 locus, is an apoptosis inhibitor expressed during the G2/M phase of the cell cycle.
