Description

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed to detect phosphorylated Stathmin-1 at serine 37 in cultured cells using a colorimetric readout at 450 nm. The assay is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples and is intended for use with adherent cells, supporting a dynamic range of more than 5,000 cells. It is supplied as a lysate-free, high-throughput indirect ELISA in which Stathmin 1 (Phospho-Ser37) is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyse a colour reaction upon substrate addition.

A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step allows cell density to be measured so absorbance values can be corrected for plating differences. The kit is suited to studies of cell signalling pathways, cancer biology, drug discovery, and biomarker analysis, where measuring relative levels of phospho-Ser37 Stathmin-1 in response to treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators is of interest.

Stathmin-1 (gene symbol STMN1; Gene ID 3925; UniProt P16949) is a microtubule-associated protein that destabilises microtubules and is implicated in cell cycle progression, proliferation, and migration. The encoded protein has a reported molecular weight of 19,824 Da, and the kit's research area is listed as Developmental Biology.
