SRF Transcription Factor Activity Assay

SRF (Serum Response Factor) is a MADS-box transcription factor that binds the CArG box consensus sequence (CC[A/T]6GG) in promoters of immediate-early genes such as c-Fos, and in genes controlling actin cytoskeleton remodeling, cardiac and smooth muscle differentiation. This Assay Genie DNA-binding ELISA quantifies the active fraction of SRF in nuclear and cell lysates, complementing EMSA and chromatin immunoprecipitation workflows with a plate-reader readout for studying MAPK signaling, growth-factor responses, and myogenic or cardiogenic differentiation programs in human, mouse, and rat samples. The kit is supplied as a microplate strip plate format with all reagents for the DNA-binding reaction; a small sample volume of nuclear extract (typically 20 uL per well) is required; store refrigerated and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity.
