SM (Spectinomycin) ELISA Kit

The SM (Spectinomycin) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is built on a competitive inhibition immunoassay principle, supporting quantitative detection of spectinomycin antibiotic residues in food matrices such as raw bovine milk and animal muscle tissue. Spectinomycin is an aminocyclitol-class veterinary antibiotic, and monitoring its residues in food of animal origin is part of regulatory veterinary drug residue control programs.

This microplate-based assay includes all reagents required to run a full plate of determinations. For sample handling, raw milk can be processed after a brief centrifugation step, while muscle samples require homogenization and defatting before extraction. Each well is coated with a spectinomycin-conjugated antigen, and samples or standards are added together with an anti-spectinomycin antibody; the resulting signal is inversely proportional to the analyte concentration in the well.
