Sheep LEP (Leptin) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for quantitative measurement of Leptin (LEP) in sheep-derived samples. It supports research into areas such as metabolic disorders, obesity, and reproduction, where leptin is described as a key regulator of energy balance and body weight.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a working detection range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL. It is validated for serum and plasma, and is additionally compatible with cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. A colorimetric readout is obtained by measuring absorbance at 450 nm after TMB substrate development.

Spike-and-recovery has been characterised for serum (96–105%, average 99%), EDTA plasma (87–101%, average 93%) and heparin plasma (86–100%, average 94%). Parallelism testing across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions gave recoveries broadly between 82% and 101% across matrices. Standard kit components are stored at 2–8°C, while the microplate strips and lyophilized standard may be kept at –20°C for longer-term storage.
