SGOL1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA

From Assay Genie, this in-cell ELISA kit is designed for the qualitative measurement of SGOL1 (Shugoshin-like 1) protein levels in cultured human cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which SGOL1 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected using HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction measured at 450 nm upon substrate addition.

Working as a lysate-free, high-throughput protocol, the kit supports measurement of relative SGOL1 expression in cultured cells and screening of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) or activators. Two normalization strategies are included: a monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody serves as an internal positive control for target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step allows cell density to be determined after the colorimetric read so plating variability can be corrected for. The recommended sample type is adherent cells and the stated dynamic range is greater than 5000 cells.

The kit is stored at 4 °C with a stability of 6 months. SGOL1 is a shugoshin-family protein implicated in chromosome cohesion during mitosis, and the assay is positioned for research into chromosome segregation, genomic stability and related disease pathways.
