Sensiscript RT Kit (200)

A reverse transcription kit from QIAGEN designed for highly sensitive applications involving very small amounts of RNA (less than 50 ng per reaction) for end-point PCR. The kit centres on Sensiscript Reverse Transcriptase, an enzyme engineered for high affinity to RNA and the ability to read through complex RNA secondary structures without adjusting temperature or reaction conditions.

Sensiscript Reverse Transcriptase is suited to applications including cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR, and qRT-PCR on RNA templates in a single-plex format. The kit supplies an optimized reaction buffer and dNTPs guaranteed RNase-free, and each lot of the enzyme is thoroughly tested for RT-PCR reproducibility to ensure consistent lot-to-lot performance.

The kit supports both one-step and two-step RT-PCR workflows, enabling cDNA to be transcribed and stored long term for later analysis. For viral RNA, Omniscript RT is generally recommended due to the presence of carrier RNA in typical viral RNA preparations. Note that a primer mix is not provided with the kit.
