QuantiTect Rev.Transcription Kit (200)

This reverse transcription kit from QIAGEN provides a fast and convenient procedure for efficient cDNA synthesis with integrated removal of genomic DNA contamination, dedicated for use in real-time two-step RT-PCR. The complete procedure takes 20 minutes and comprises two main steps: elimination of genomic DNA and reverse transcription. Genomic DNA contamination is effectively removed by a brief incubation of the RNA sample in gDNA Wipeout Buffer at 42°C for 2 minutes, after which the sample is used directly in reverse transcription. Reverse transcription is then carried out at 42°C for 15 minutes using Quantiscript Reverse Transcriptase, Quantiscript RT Buffer, and RT Primer Mix, followed by inactivation at 95°C for 3 minutes.

Quantiscript Reverse Transcriptase is an optimized blend of the QIAGEN Omniscript and Sensiscript Reverse Transcriptases — recombinant heterodimeric enzymes expressed in E. coli — together with an RNase inhibitor that strongly inhibits RNases A, B, and C as well as human placental RNases. The enzyme is optimized for efficient and sensitive cDNA synthesis from 10 pg to 1 µg of RNA, delivering high cDNA yields even from templates with high GC content or complex secondary structure. The RT Primer Mix combines oligo-dT and random primers, enabling high cDNA yields from all regions of RNA transcripts, including 5' regions. The kit also provides ultrapure, PCR-grade RNase-Free Water.

The kit is intended for research use only, is shipped on dry ice, and should be stored at –20°C. Each lot is tested against predetermined specifications under QIAGEN's ISO-certified Quality Management System, with a stated shelf life of 12 months.
