SENP7 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the qualitative detection of SENP7 protein expression in cultured adherent cells using a colorimetric readout at 450 nm. The assay employs an indirect ELISA format in which SENP7 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected via HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The kit is lysate-free and supports high-throughput screening of relative SENP7 levels, as well as evaluation of the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on SENP7 expression.

A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included to serve as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density after the colorimetric measurement. The kit is reactive with both human and mouse samples, has a dynamic range of "> 5000 Cells", and is stored at 4°C for 6 months. According to UniProt, SENP7 is a protease that deconjugates SUMO2 and SUMO3 from targeted proteins (but not SUMO1), catalysing the deconjugation of poly-SUMO2 and poly-SUMO3 chains, and plays a role in the regulation of protein SUMOylation, a process important for cellular homeostasis and signalling.
