Description

This cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the qualitative detection of SENP2 protein expression in cultured cells, using an indirect ELISA format with a colorimetric readout at 450 nm. The assay relies on target-specific primary antibodies and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies, allowing researchers to monitor relative SENP2 levels and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on SENP2 expression.

SENP2 is a SUMO-specific protease that processes full-length SUMO1, SUMO2, and SUMO3 to their mature forms and deconjugates them from substrate proteins, placing it at the centre of the SUMOylation pathway that governs DNA repair, transcriptional regulation, and signal transduction. Research applications include studies of cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, and stress response, as well as the role of SENP2 in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and autoimmune conditions.

Reactivity covers human, mouse, and rat samples, with a dynamic range above 5000 cells. The kit is supplied in a 96-well microplate format and includes two normalization controls: a monoclonal GAPDH antibody serves as an internal positive control for target absorbance, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell stain enables normalization to cell density. Both adherent cells and loosely attached or suspension cells can be assayed, with fixation and staining protocols adjusted accordingly. The anti-SENP2 antibody is a rabbit polyclonal reagent and the anti-GAPDH antibody is a mouse monoclonal reagent. The kit is intended for research use only and should be stored at 4°C, where unopened components remain stable for up to six months.
