SARS-COV-2 Spike RBD Protein IgG Antibody ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the qualitative measurement of SARS-CoV-2 Spike RBD Protein IgG Antibody using a colorimetric detection method. The in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay is intended for laboratory research use only and is not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.

The kit is suitable for use with serum and plasma samples, including those collected with EDTA, citrate, or heparin anticoagulants. It includes a set of calibration standards that are assayed alongside the samples, allowing the operator to produce a standard curve of optical density versus SARS-CoV-2 Spike RBD Protein IgG Antibody concentration. Sample concentrations are determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. The stop solution changes color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm using a spectrophotometer.

Safety notes accompany the kit: it contains materials with small quantities of sodium azide, which reacts with lead and copper plumbing to form explosive metal azides. Upon disposal, drains should be flushed with a large volume of water to prevent azide accumulation. Contact with eyes, skin, or mucous membranes should be avoided; in case of contact, the affected area should be rinsed with plenty of water. All blood components and biological materials should be handled as potentially hazardous, following universal precautions established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration when handling and disposing of infectious agents.
