Description

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA kit is designed to detect RGAG1 protein expression in cultured cells using a colorimetric method measured at 450 nm. The assay is reactive with human and mouse samples and is intended for use with adherent cells.

This lysate-free, high-throughput kit provides qualitative determination of RGAG1 via an indirect ELISA format, in which RGAG1-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, allowing the conjugated HRP to catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The kit is supplied in a 96-well microplate format with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells, and is stable at 4°C for 6 months. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included to serve as an internal positive control for normalization, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step may be used to determine cell density. The assay is suitable for screening the effects of various treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and activators on RGAG1 expression.

The target protein is retrotransposon gag domain-containing protein 1 (RGAG1), a 144,280 Da protein encoded at chromosomal position Xq23 in humans (UniProt Q8NET4, Gene ID 57529). RGAG1 plays a role in cell growth and proliferation, supporting research into cancer, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative disorders.
