This cDNA first-strand synthesis system from QIAGEN provides the reagents required to convert total RNA, poly(A)+ mRNA, or viral RNA into complementary DNA for downstream RT-PCR, qPCR, real-time PCR, and sequencing workflows.

Each pack contains 100 reactions stored at -20 °C in a ready-to-use format, and supplies a reverse transcriptase together with an RNase inhibitor, dNTP mix, and reaction buffer. Typical reaction volumes are 20 µL, accepting 50 ng to 2 µg of total RNA depending on template abundance. Random hexamers, oligo-dT, or gene-specific primers can be combined with the supplied enzyme to tailor the priming strategy.
