Rat VLDL/Very low-density lipoprotein ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie provides quantitative measurement of very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) in rat samples using a double-antibody, colorimetric format. The assay accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and is positioned for research on lipid metabolism and related metabolic disorders such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Sensitivity is quoted at 18.75 pg/mL, with a working range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. Reported linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions falls within 89-104% (serum, n=5), 82-97% (EDTA plasma, n=5) and 80-100% (heparin plasma, n=5). Spike-and-recovery averages are 97% for serum (range 89-104%), 92% for EDTA plasma (range 86-96%) and 91% for heparin plasma (range 85-101%). Unopened kit components are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

The workflow proceeds through reagent and plate preparation, a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, biotin-labelled detection antibody binding (60 minutes at 37°C), HRP-Streptavidin binding (30 minutes at 37°C), TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after addition of the stop solution.
