Viperin (also called RSAD2) is an interferon-stimulated gene product that acts as a broad-spectrum antiviral effector and serves as a widely measured biomarker of innate immune activation. This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured to measure endogenous rat Viperin levels in experimental models of viral challenge, interferon-pathway stimulation, and inflammation research, supporting workflows that span cell culture work, tissue preparation, and in vivo rat studies.

Built around matched antibody pairs directed against rat Viperin, the kit delivers quantitative readouts via a standard absorbance-based ELISA workflow and is intended for research use only. Each microplate is supplied with the reagents required to generate a standard curve and to interpolate unknown rat samples, enabling longitudinal monitoring of antiviral responses in rat infection models, vaccine immunity studies, and characterization of interferon-driven signaling cascades.

Researchers investigating hepatitis C virus, influenza, dengue, Zika, or HIV-1 pathogenesis in rodent systems frequently track Viperin induction as a readout of type I interferon activity. The assay accommodates different rat-derived specimen types including tissue homogenates, supporting cross-treatment comparisons in pharmacological or infectious-disease experiments.
