Assay Genie's Rat Vasopressin Vla Receptor (AVPR1A) ELISA Kit provides a quantitative immunoassay workflow for measuring V1a arginine vasopressin receptor concentrations in rat biological samples. The kit supports research into G-protein-coupled receptor signaling, social and behavioral neuroscience, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis regulation, vascular tone studies, and renal water reabsorption mechanisms mediated by aquaporin-2 channel activity downstream of vasopressin signaling.

Researchers can apply the assay across serum samples, plasma samples, tissue homogenates, and cerebrospinal fluid collections to compare V1a receptor expression between experimental cohorts, such as normotensive versus hypertensive rat models, or between specific brain nuclei in behavioral studies. Each kit ships as a complete package with pre-coated microplate strips, lyophilized standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, substrate solution, stop reagent, and wash buffer concentrate. Reconstituted standards and working detection antibody should be kept refrigerated and aliquoted to limit repeat freeze-thaw cycles; the sealed plate and unused strips remain stable at the recommended storage temperature until the printed expiration date.

For accurate quantitation, run the full standard curve in duplicate on each plate, verify sample dilution linearity for tissue homogenates, and normalize receptor concentrations to total protein content measured in parallel. The protocol uses a small sample volume per well, allowing multiple analyte measurements from limited biological specimens.
