Quantitative measurement of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2/KDR) in rat samples is enabled by this immunoassay kit from Assay Genie. The assay is calibrated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and related biological fluids from rat origin, with readout by colorimetric means using a streptavidin-HRP and TMB workflow. Antibodies raised against the rat VEGFR2 extracellular domain confer target specificity, and validation studies have demonstrated no meaningful cross-reactivity against VEGFR1 (Flt-1), allowing selective quantification of VEGFR2 in studies of angiogenesis, vascular biology, and tumour models in rodents.

Each kit is supplied as a 96-assay format and includes a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution. A 100 µL sample volume is loaded per well, and the standard curve spans a working concentration range suitable for detecting both basal and induced VEGFR2 levels in experimental samples. Unopened kit components should be refrigerated upon receipt; reconstituted standards and working dilutions remain stable for the stated shelf life when aliquoted and stored as directed in the protocol.

The kit is intended for research use only and is suited to applications such as quantifying circulating VEGFR2 in rodent disease models, monitoring receptor changes in tumour or wound-healing studies, and screening compounds that modulate angiogenic signalling pathways in vitro and in vivo.
