Rat Urocortin (Ucn) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of urocortin in rat samples. The assay detects natural and recombinant rat urocortin (synonym: corticotensin) and is applicable to serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The detection range is 31.2-2000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 15.77pg/mL.

Urocortin is a secreted 13,711 Da peptide (UniProt P55090; NCBI Gene ID: 29151) belonging to the corticotropin-releasing factor family. Cited functions include in vitro stimulation of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) secretion, high-affinity binding to CRF receptor types 1, 2-alpha, and 2-beta, a role in establishing normal hearing thresholds, and reduction of food intake with regulation of ghrelin levels in gastric body and plasma. The protein interacts with CRHR1 and CRHR2 via their N-terminal extracellular domains.
