Rat UCP3 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of UCP3 (uncoupling protein 3) in rat samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. UCP3 is a key mitochondrial protein with roles in energy metabolism, thermogenesis, energy expenditure, and lipid metabolism, making it a relevant biomarker in studies of obesity, diabetes, and other metabolic disorders.

The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection, employing a TMB substrate read at 450 nm. Reported linearity values for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma fall between 82% and 103% across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions, while recovery spans 85–105% depending on sample matrix. Components are stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.

The workflow follows reagent equilibration, primary incubation at 37°C, biotin-labelled detection antibody binding, HRP-streptavidin binding, TMB color development, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm. The kit is supplied as a reliable tool for studying UCP3 expression and exploring mechanisms of metabolic disease.
