Rat Transferrin ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's Rat Transferrin ELISA Kit is a Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody assay designed for the precise quantification of transferrin in rat biological samples. It is compatible with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and the signal is read at 450 nm after a TMB substrate step.

The kit offers a sensitivity of 0.938 ng/mL and a detection range of 1.563–100 ng/mL. Linearity has been validated in serum (86–104% at 1:2, 87–104% at 1:4, 91–104% at 1:8), EDTA plasma (82–97%, 83–101%, 83–98%) and heparin plasma (85–96%, 82–100%, 84–99%). Recovery ranges are 89–105% for serum (average 94%), 96–103% for EDTA plasma (average 99%), and 91–104% for heparin plasma (average 96%). Transferrin is a key protein responsible for iron transport and regulation in the body, with abnormal levels associated with conditions such as iron deficiency anemia, liver diseases and neurological disorders, highlighting its importance as a biomarker for disease diagnosis and monitoring.

Reagents are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. The workflow involves equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, incubating the plate at 37°C for 90 minutes for primary binding, 60 minutes with the biotinylated detection antibody, 30 minutes with HRP-Streptavidin, 10–20 minutes in the dark with TMB, and a final stop step before reading the absorbance at 450 nm.
