Rat TNNT3 (Troponin T Type 3, Fast Skeletal) ELISA Kit (RTES01163)

Encoded by the TNNT3 gene, fast skeletal troponin T is the contractile protein isoform characteristic of type II (fast-twitch) skeletal muscle fibers, where it anchors the troponin complex to tropomyosin on the thin filament and supports calcium-regulated contraction. This enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) from Assay Genie is configured to measure rat TNNT3 specifically, distinguishing the fast-twitch skeletal isoform from the cardiac troponin T (TNNT2) isoform that is targeted by most clinical cardiac injury panels. Reagents are supplied in a kit format sized for 96 assays, and the product is aimed at investigators studying skeletal muscle physiology, neuromuscular biology, and rodent models of disuse atrophy, exercise adaptation, and inherited myopathies such as nemaline myopathy and distal arthrogryposis in which fast-twitch fiber integrity is of interest.
