Rat TIMP1/Metalloproteinase inhibitor 1 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of TIMP1 (Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinase 1) in rat-derived samples. TIMP1 is a key endogenous inhibitor of metalloproteinases, enzymes involved in tissue remodelling and inflammation, and its dysregulation has been linked to cancer, fibrosis and arthritis. The kit uses a double-antibody sandwich format with a colorimetric readout, making it suitable for research into metalloproteinase regulation and related physiological and pathological processes.

The assay is reactive with rat samples and accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. It has a stated sensitivity of 23.438 pg/mL and a working range of 39.063–2500 pg/mL. Reported linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions in serum (n = 5), EDTA plasma (n = 5) and heparin plasma (n = 5) falls within 80–105%. Average recoveries are 92% (serum), 100% (EDTA plasma) and 93% (heparin plasma). Reconstituted components are stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.

The kit includes a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, biotinylated detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate and TMB substrate, together with the required diluent and wash buffers. The manufacturer describes a six-step protocol of primary incubation at 37°C, biotinylated detection antibody binding, HRP-streptavidin binding, TMB colour development in the dark, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution is added.
