The Tissue Inhibitors of Metalloproteinase 3 (TIMP-3) quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured for rat-derived samples and supplied as a complete kit sufficient for 96 assays. TIMP-3 is a secreted glycoprotein that binds and inhibits matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-9, and MMP-13) and blocks the ectodomain shedding of TNF-α, Fas, and related receptors by ADAM-family disintegrins, placing it at the center of research into extracellular matrix turnover, fibrosis, arthritis, tumor invasion, and vascular remodeling.

The two-antibody capture format uses pre-coated plate wells, a rat-specific detection antibody, and the chromogenic substrate needed to produce a measurable absorbance signal at the end of the run. Validated inputs include cell culture supernatant, tissue homogenate, rat serum, rat plasma, and other bodily fluids, enabling quantification of TIMP-3 in vitro and tracking of circulating levels in rat disease models.
