Rat Thrombopoietin (Thpo) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for quantitative measurement of Rat Thrombopoietin (Thpo) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection method. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant rat Thrombopoietin, with the target annotated to a secreted subcellular location and a research area of cancer.

Manufacturer data specify a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 7.86pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.2% and an inter-assay CV of 6.5%. Dilution linearity tested at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 returned 84-93%, 96-106%, 104-114% and 93-105% respectively in serum (N=5); 100-109%, 98-108%, 107-117% and 91-101% in EDTA plasma (N=5); and 98-107%, 105-115%, 96-108% and 107-117% in heparin plasma (N=5). Spike-and-recovery testing averaged 81% (range 80-87%) in serum and 83% (range 80-89%) in plasma. Thrombopoietin is described as a lineage-specific cytokine affecting the proliferation and maturation of megakaryocytes from their committed progenitor cells and as a major physiological regulator of circulating platelets, belonging to the EPO/TPO family.
