Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of Thyroid Hormone Receptor alpha (THRA) in rat samples using a colorimetric detection method. The kit is reactive with rat samples and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types.

Performance specifications include a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma (n=5) at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions, with values of 86–104%, 85–97%, and 80–99% for serum; 88–103%, 82–93%, and 88–99% for EDTA plasma; and 88–104%, 86–101%, and 82–99% for heparin plasma. Recovery ranges are 88–103% (average 96%) for serum, 88–99% (average 94%) for EDTA plasma, and 86–103% (average 95%) for heparin plasma. The assay workflow includes a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, 60-minute detection antibody binding, 30-minute HRP-streptavidin binding, 10–20 minutes of TMB colour development in the dark, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm. Kit components are stored at 2–8°C, with a stated shelf life of 12 months under those conditions.

THRA is described as a key regulator of thyroid hormone signalling with roles in metabolism, growth, and development. Dysregulation of THRA has been linked to thyroid disorders, metabolic diseases, and cancer, positioning the receptor as a potential biomarker for disease progression and a target for therapeutic investigation.
