Rat Thioredoxin/TRX protein ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a sandwich ELISA, double antibody assay for the accurate quantification of thioredoxin levels in rat-derived samples. The kit is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with reactivity confirmed for rat. Thioredoxin is described as a key protein involved in redox regulation and cellular defense against oxidative stress, and the assay is positioned for cell biology research, including studies of cancer, inflammatory disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases where the protein has been highlighted as a potential biomarker.

Performance figures quoted by the manufacturer include a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL, with a colorimetric detection method. Standard storage is 2–8°C for 12 months. Reported linearity for serum (n=5) is 87–101% at 1:2, 86–105% at 1:4, and 85–99% at 1:8; for EDTA plasma (n=5) it is 85–100%, 82–101%, and 83–101% at the same dilutions; for heparin plasma (n=5) it is 90–99%, 83–98%, and 82–98%. Recovery averages 94% for serum, 94% for EDTA plasma, and 97% for heparin plasma, with respective ranges of 85–103%, 86–100%, and 90–105%.

The assay procedure uses a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, followed by biotin-labeled detection antibody and HRP-streptavidin binding steps, with TMB color development read at 450 nm. Kit components include a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilized standard, HRP-labeled antibody (100X concentrate), TMB substrate, sample and antibody dilution buffers, stop solution, 25X wash buffer, plate sealers, and a technical manual.
