Rat T4 ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this competitive ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of thyroxine (T4) in rat samples. It is reactive with rat and validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, supporting research into thyroid hormone regulation, metabolic conditions, and hormonal imbalances.

Manufacturer specifications cite a sensitivity of 0.938 pg/mL and an assay range of 1.563–100 pg/mL. Detection is colorimetric, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a microplate reader. Linearity in serum (n=10) is reported as 82–99% at 1:2, 83–97% at 1:4, and 80–93% at 1:8 dilutions; EDTA plasma (n=10) shows 86–105%, 91–104%, and 82–100%; heparin plasma (n=10) shows 86–102%, 89–104%, and 90–104%. Average recovery is 92% for serum, 97% for EDTA plasma, and 94% for heparin plasma.

The recommended storage condition is 2–8°C (sealed); the kit should not be cryopreserved. The procedure combines sample with a biotinylated antibody, uses TMB substrate for colour development, and is terminated with a stop solution that changes colour from blue to yellow.
