Rat Surfactant Associated Protein A (SPA) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie Rat SP-A kit targets the SFTPA1 gene product (UniProt P08427), also annotated as COLEC4, PSP-A, and the 35 kDa pulmonary surfactant-associated protein. Each well receives 100 µL of standard or sample during the first incubation at 37 °C, followed by sequential 100 µL additions of detection reagent, a 90 µL substrate incubation, and a 50 µL stop reaction before the plate is read.

Validated performance on rat matrices yields an intra-assay CV below 10% and an inter-assay CV below 12%, with spiked recoveries of 80–102% in serum (mean 91%), 81–99% in EDTA plasma (mean 90%), and 80–89% in heparin plasma (mean 84%) across five replicates per matrix. Linearity is confirmed across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions. Unopened components carry a 12-month shelf life; once opened, the lyophilized standard and dismountable strip plate tolerate one month under refrigerated conditions, after which they should be resealed in the foil pouch with desiccant and refrozen at -20 °C for long-term retention.
