Rat Sorbitol dehydrogenase (Sord) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich-format ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative colorimetric detection of rat sorbitol dehydrogenase (SORD) across serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with rat samples and specifically detects natural and recombinant rat SORD.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 U/L, a sensitivity of 0.167 U/L, an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 7.7%. Dilutional linearity in serum (N=5) was 110–120% at 1:2, 106–119% at 1:4, 90–101% at 1:8 and 95–107% at 1:16; in EDTA plasma 111–120%, 99–111%, 96–108% and 103–113%; in heparin plasma 81–92%, 101–113%, 97–106% and 83–93%. Average recovery was 91% (range 85–97%) for serum and 93% (range 87–99%) for plasma.

SORD is a polyol dehydrogenase that catalyses the reversible NAD(+)-dependent oxidation of sugar alcohols such as D-sorbitol to D-fructose, operating in the polyol pathway that interconverts glucose and fructose. Kit components are stored at −20°C (with select buffers at 4°C) and the product is shipped at +4°C. Intended for research use only.
