Rat Sodium-dependent dopamine transporter/SLC6A3 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA uses a double-antibody format with colorimetric detection to quantify the sodium-dependent dopamine transporter (SLC6A3) in rat samples. Intended for neuroscience research, the kit targets a protein that regulates dopamine levels in the brain and is implicated in neurological and psychiatric disorders; recognised synonyms for the target include DAT, DAT1, DA transporter and VNTR.

Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. The assay reports a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a working range of 0.781-50 ng/mL, and the kit should be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months. Linearity (n = 5) at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 was 86-104%, 94-103% and 86-99% in serum; 83-92%, 89-100% and 84-98% in EDTA plasma; and 80-99%, 84-98% and 87-99% in heparin plasma. Mean recovery (n = 5) was 96% in serum, 95% in EDTA plasma and 96% in heparin plasma.

The procedure uses a biotin-labelled detection antibody and HRP-streptavidin (SABC) binding, with TMB substrate development and absorbance measured at 450 nm.
