Rat SMAD2 ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of SMAD2 in rat samples. SMAD2 is a key player in the TGF-β signaling pathway, where it regulates gene expression and cell behaviour. Dysregulation of SMAD2 has been implicated in diseases such as cancer, fibrosis, and developmental disorders, making it a significant biomarker for research into disease pathogenesis and potential therapeutic strategies.

The assay uses a double antibody Sandwich ELISA format with colorimetric detection. It accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Sensitivity is 0.375 ng/mL, with a working range of 0.625–40 ng/mL. The kit is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

Linearity has been demonstrated across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 in serum (85–98%, 88–103%, 89–105%), EDTA plasma (85–100%, 83–99%, 85–95%), and heparin plasma (84–96%, 82–94%, 81–100%). Recovery ranges are 85–105% (average 95%) for serum, 93–103% (average 98%) for EDTA plasma, and 85–99% (average 91%) for heparin plasma. The protocol involves equilibrating reagents to room temperature, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after adding stop solution.
