Rat SLC25A20 ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the precise quantification of SLC25A20 — also known as carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase (CACT) — in rat samples. The assay accommodates a broad range of sample types, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples, and uses a colorimetric, double-antibody sandwich detection format.

SLC25A20 mediates the transport of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria for beta-oxidation, and its dysregulation has been implicated in metabolic disorders such as fatty liver disease and mitochondrial diseases, making it a valuable target for therapeutic research. The kit delivers a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL across a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Recovery has been validated in serum (range 85–103%, average 92%), EDTA plasma (range 85–104%, average 97%) and heparin plasma (range 92–103%, average 97%). Reported linearity in serum spans 80–101% across dilutions, with EDTA plasma at 80–96% and heparin plasma at 80–104%.

The workflow begins with a 90-minute primary incubation at 37 °C, followed by a 60-minute biotin-labelled detection antibody step, a 30-minute HRP-streptavidin binding incubation, and TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes. Absorbance is read at 450 nm immediately after stop solution is added. Unopened kit components are stored at 2–8 °C and remain stable for up to 12 months.
