Rat Serotonin N-acetyltransferase (Aanat) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit enables the in vitro quantitative determination of Rat Serotonin N-acetyltransferase (AANAT) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection method. AANAT is the penultimate enzyme in melatonin synthesis, catalysing the N-acetylation of serotonin into N-acetylserotonin and controlling the night/day rhythm of melatonin production in the pineal gland.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.186ng/mL, with intra-assay CV of 4.3% and inter-assay CV of 9.8%. Linearity for serum (N=5) spans 95-105% at 1:2 to 98-108% at 1:16; EDTA plasma ranges 97-108% to 108-118% and heparin plasma 108-117% to 87-96% across the same serial dilutions. Mean recovery is 102% in serum (range 96-108%) and 104% in plasma (range 98-110%). The kit is specific for natural and recombinant rat AANAT and is supplied for research use only within the neurosciences research area.
