This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie enables measurement of rat Semaphorin 7A in liquid specimens collected from laboratory rats. Semaphorin 7A, the only membrane-anchored member of the semaphorin family and known in cluster of differentiation nomenclature as CD108, signals through integrin β1 and plexin C1 receptors. Researchers study this protein in the context of T cell activation, inflammatory signaling cascades, osteoblast and bone remodeling pathways, and neural guidance mechanisms, making the kit broadly applicable across immunology, bone biology, and neuroscience investigations performed in vitro.

The kit supplies 96 individual assays and is intended for research use only. For best reagent stability, refrigerate the components between runs and protect from light where indicated on the packaging. Sample handling practices such as timely centrifugation of collected blood, aliquoting of supernatant, and minimizing repeated freeze-thaw events help preserve analyte integrity in the working tube.

Typical applications include profiling circulating SEMA7A levels in rodent models of arthritis, sepsis, neuroinflammation, and metabolic bone disease, as well as conditioned medium collected from cultured primary cells. The rat-specific reactivity supports work across laboratory rat strains such as Sprague-Dawley and Wistar, which are common in academic and pharmaceutical laboratories running in vivo and in vitro studies.
