Rat Selectin, Platelet (SELP) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's rat SELP ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of P-Selectin (CD62P), a transmembrane adhesion glycoprotein stored in the alpha-granules of resting platelets and the Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells. Upon cellular activation, P-Selectin is rapidly translocated to the plasma membrane, where it mediates the initial rolling and tethering of leukocytes along the vascular wall. This early step in the inflammatory cascade makes SELP a focal analyte in studies of leukocyte recruitment, platelet-endothelial cross-talk, and acute phase responses.

Investigators working on cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis, deep vein thrombosis, and sepsis routinely deploy this kit to monitor circulating P-Selectin in experimental rat cohorts. Other validated applications include ischemia-reperfusion injury, diabetic vasculopathy, traumatic brain injury, and pre-clinical oncology models where platelet-derived SELP contributes to tumor cell extravasation and metastatic seeding.

The kit is supplied as a complete pack with a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, lyophilized rat CD62P standards, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and substrate in individual vials. A typical run requires only 50 µL of sample per well, and the calibration curve is generated against recombinant rat SELP, with minimal cross-reactivity toward E-Selectin or L-Selectin isoforms.
