Description

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of rat sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase 3 (ATP2A3), also known by the synonyms calcium pump 3 and SERCA3. The colorimetric assay accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant rat ATP2A3.

Quoted performance figures include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.168 ng/mL, with intra-assay CV of 4.9% and inter-assay CV of 8.6%. Linearity has been verified across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions in serum (94–104%, 103–111%, 106–116% and 88–99%), EDTA plasma (102–111%, 87–97%, 102–113% and 109–117%) and heparin plasma (112–121%, 100–110%, 94–102% and 86–96%), all N=5. Recovery averages 103% in serum (range 97–109%) and 105% in plasma (range 99–111%). ATP2A3 is a magnesium-dependent P-type ATPase that hydrolyses ATP coupled with calcium transport from the cytosol into the sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum lumen, contributing to calcium sequestration involved in muscular excitation/contraction. The target protein has a molecular weight of 109,359 Da (UniProt P18596) and is anchored in endoplasmic reticulum and sarcoplasmic reticulum membranes as a multi-pass membrane protein. The product is supplied for research use only, within the neurosciences research area.
