Description

A sandwich ELISA, double antibody kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of Rat Atp2a1 (Sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase 1, also known as SERCA1) in serum and plasma samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and targets the magnesium-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the translocation of calcium from the cytosol to the sarcoplasmic reticulum lumen, contributing to calcium sequestration involved in muscular excitation and contraction.

The kit has a reported sensitivity of 0.188ng/ml and an assay range of 0.313-20ng/ml. Intra-assay precision is CV <8% and inter-assay precision is CV <10%. Recovery was validated in serum (87-95%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (85-105%, average 97%) and UFH plasma (87-104%, average 94%). Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions was 86-104% / 87-95% / 88-103% for serum, 83-101% / 86-100% / 85-99% for EDTA plasma, and 84-100% / 89-100% / 83-95% for UFH plasma. Storage is at 4°C for 6 months. For research use only.

UniProt entry: Q64578. NCBI Gene ID: 487. Molecular weight: 95,199 Da. The target is associated with Brody Myopathy and belongs to the cation transport ATPase (P-type) family, Type IIA subfamily, expressed in skeletal muscle, fast twitch muscle (type II) fibers.
