Rat S100B/S100 beta ELISA Kit

S100B is a calcium-binding protein predominantly expressed in astrocytes within the central nervous system, where it is recognised as a biomarker for brain injury and neurodegenerative disease, supporting research in neuroscience and neurology.

The assay is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and uses a colorimetric readout. It offers a sensitivity of 37.5 pg/mL, a measurable range of 62.5–4000 pg/mL, and components stored at 2-8°C for 12 months. Reported recovery is 86–103% (average 94%) in serum, 88–100% (average 94%) in EDTA plasma, and 88–104% (average 94%) in heparin plasma (n = 5 each), with linearity assessed at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions.
