Quantitative measurement of rat skeletal muscle ryanodine receptor (RYR1) in tissue homogenates and cell lysates. From Assay Genie, this immunoassay targets the sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium release channel that mediates excitation-contraction coupling in skeletal muscle fibers. Investigators studying neuromuscular disease apply the kit to characterize altered channel expression in conditions such as malignant hyperthermia susceptibility, central core disease, and multiminicore myopathy, where RYR1 mutations have been linked to compromised calcium handling. The microplate configuration supports 96 assays per kit, accommodating medium-throughput screening of rat-derived biological samples. The kit supports workflows such as skeletal muscle tissue extraction, sarcoplasmic reticulum fraction preparation, and downstream quantification in studies of muscle contractility, calcium signaling, and rodent models of myopathy.
