Description

From Assay Genie, this competitive ELISA is designed for the quantitative measurement of Ribonucleoside-diphosphate reductase subunit M2 B (RRM2) in rat samples. The assay uses a coated-antigen format with colorimetric detection and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Sensitivity is 0.188 ng/mL and the working range is 0.313-20 ng/mL. Kits should be stored sealed at 2-8°C and not cryopreserved.

RRM2 is an essential component of ribonucleotide reductase, supplying precursors for DNA synthesis and supporting cell proliferation. Its dysregulation has been linked to cancer, viral infections, and metabolic disorders, making it a useful biomarker for studying disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic interventions. Reported linearity at a 1:2 dilution is 91-105% for serum, 89-101% for EDTA plasma, and 80-93% for heparin plasma, while average recovery is 90% (serum), 97% (EDTA plasma) and 94% (heparin plasma).

The protocol involves adding 50 µL of standard or sample together with 50 µL of biotin-labelled antibody to each well, incubating at 37°C for 45 minutes, washing, developing with TMB substrate in the dark at 37°C for 10-20 minutes, stopping the reaction, and reading absorbance at 450 nm on a microplate reader.
