Rat Resistin (RETN) ELISA Kit

Built around the adipokine encoded by the RETN gene, this Assay Genie kit enables quantitative measurement of rat resistin, an approximately 12 kDa cysteine-rich peptide hormone of roughly 114 amino acids, in laboratory research focused on metabolic and inflammatory disease. Resistin is secreted by adipose tissue and, in rats, also by circulating white blood cells, and it has become a focal analyte in studies of insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, diet-induced obesity, and the chronic low-grade inflammation that accompanies metabolic syndrome. Recent work has also positioned resistin as a marker of interest in cardiovascular and hepatic research.

Supplied as a complete research-use-only ELISA kit for in vitro use, the product supports common rodent study workflows: comparing circulating resistin between lean and obese rat strains such as Zucker or diet-induced obesity models, monitoring time-course responses to pharmacologic or dietary interventions, and profiling resistin release in cell culture models of adipocyte or macrophage biology. Each kit contains the reagents needed to perform the assay and carries the Assay Genie standard for inter-assay reproducibility.
