Quantitative measurement of Regenerating Islet Derived Protein 4 (REG4) in rat samples is supported by this microplate immunoassay from Assay Genie. REG4 is a calcium-dependent lectin of the REG family, expressed predominantly in the gastrointestinal tract and pancreatic islets, where it participates in epithelial cell proliferation and mucosal repair. Aberrant REG4 expression has been documented in inflammatory bowel disease and in gastrointestinal tumors, making it a target of interest in preclinical rat studies.
Each kit provides reagents for 96 individual determinations and includes a pre-coated well plate, standards, detection antibodies, and substrate solution. The protocol accommodates rat serum, rat plasma, and tissue homogenate preparations, with dilution guidance supplied in the product insert. Absorbance values are read on a standard microplate reader, and concentration is calculated against the included standard curve.
Typical research applications include monitoring REG4 levels in colitis models, pancreatitis investigations, and gastric or colorectal carcinogenesis studies using rat systems. All reagents are shipped with stability documentation, and the assay is intended for research use only.
