Assay Genie provides a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of rat Pyruvate dehydrogenase E1 component subunit alpha, somatic form, mitochondrial (Pdha1). The assay is intended for use with rat samples including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and it recognises both natural and recombinant rat PDHA1.

Performance characteristics quoted by the manufacturer include a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.162 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.8% and an inter-assay CV of 9.5%. Linearity has been demonstrated across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 in serum (81-122%), EDTA plasma (85-120%) and heparin plasma (85-115%) matrices. Recovery ranges from 92-104% for serum and 94-106% for plasma. PDHA1 (UniProt P26284) is a mitochondrial matrix enzyme that catalyses the oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvate to acetyl-CoA and CO2, linking the glycolytic pathway to the tricarboxylic acid cycle.
