Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of Pulmonary Surfactant Associated Protein B (SPB) in rat samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and supports research into lung biology, respiratory diseases, and surfactant dysfunction in rat models. SPB is a key protein involved in the maintenance of lung function, particularly in surfactant production and lung development, and altered levels have been associated with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD).

Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples such as lung tissue homogenates. The kit is stored at 2–8 °C for 12 months. Reported performance includes a sensitivity of 0.938 ng/mL, a standard range of 1.563–100 ng/mL, and spike-and-recovery averages of 97% for serum, 97% for EDTA plasma, and 100% for heparin plasma. Linearity at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions was 92–105%, 85–105%, and 85–100% for serum; 87–100%, 83–96%, and 82–100% for EDTA plasma; and 83–91%, 81–96%, and 80–98% for heparin plasma.

The kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standard, biotin-labeled detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate, sample and antibody dilution buffers, SABC dilution buffer, wash buffer, stop solution, plate sealer, and a technical manual. The protocol involves primary incubation at 37 °C, biotinylated detection antibody and HRP-streptavidin binding steps, TMB color development in the dark, and absorbance reading at 450 nm.
