Rat PTN/Pleiotrophin ELISA Kit

A high-quality Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of pleiotrophin (PTN) in rat samples. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection, and absorbance is read at 450 nm.

Pleiotrophin is a multifunctional growth factor involved in cell growth, differentiation, and migration, and has been implicated in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and inflammation. The assay has a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a detection range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. Linearity (n=5) in serum is 88-105% at 1:2, 87-103% at 1:4, and 87-104% at 1:8; in EDTA plasma 85-99%, 85-99%, and 82-100%; and in heparin plasma 83-100%, 81-95%, and 81-100%. Recovery ranges are 87-102% (serum, average 93%), 89-100% (EDTA plasma, average 97%), and 88-101% (heparin plasma, average 95%).

The assay procedure involves a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, a 60-minute detection antibody binding step, and a 30-minute HRP-streptavidin binding step, followed by TMB substrate development for 10–20 minutes in the dark. The kit is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
