Rat Prolactin ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit uses a double-antibody format with colorimetric detection to quantify prolactin in rat samples. It is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types, and is intended for cell biology research applications.

Stated performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and an assay range of 0.781-50 ng/mL. Reported linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is 85-103%, 91-105% and 89-104% for serum (n = 5); 88-98%, 87-101% and 89-101% for EDTA plasma (n = 5); and 81-99%, 82-98% and 80-98% for heparin plasma (n = 5). Spike-and-recovery averages are 97% for serum (range 88-104%), 96% for EDTA plasma (range 88-103%), and 92% for heparin plasma (range 86-95%).

The assay uses a pre-coated plate: standards and samples are incubated at 37°C for 90 minutes, followed by a biotin-labeled detection antibody for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin for 30 minutes, and TMB substrate developed in the dark for 10-20 minutes, with absorbance read at 450 nm after stop solution. Unopened reagents are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
