Rat PROK1/EG-VEGF ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit uses a double-antibody format to quantitatively detect PROK1, also referred to as EG-VEGF (Endocrine-gland-derived vascular endothelial growth factor) or Prokineticin 1. The kit is reactive with rat samples — including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples — and is targeted at cardiovascular research. PROK1/EG-VEGF is described in the manufacturer's literature as a protein involved in angiogenesis and cell proliferation, with dysregulation linked to cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions.

Stated performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a working range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL. Reported linearity for serum (n = 5) is 85–103% at 1:2, 89–105% at 1:4, and 91–103% at 1:8; for EDTA plasma (n = 5) 89–94% at 1:2, 84–96% at 1:4, and 87–96% at 1:8; and for heparin plasma (n = 5) 83–87% at 1:2, 83–99% at 1:4, and 81–95% at 1:8. Recovery data are: serum 85–103% (average 97%), EDTA plasma 94–102% (average 98%), and heparin plasma 86–99% (average 91%). Detection is colorimetric, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

Storage is specified at 2–8°C for 12 months.
